Jews of Ethiopian descent plan state-of-the-art cultural and heritage center in Be’er Sheva

The Shavu Banim Center in Be’er Sheva, serving a community of 13,000 Ethiopian Jews, is set for significant renovations.

Established in 1992, the center has deteriorated over the years. With funding from the Jewish National Fund-USA and the Be’er Sheva Municipality, plans are underway to transform it into a modern educational and heritage hub.

The upgraded facility will host community events, educational programs, and cultural activities, reinforcing the heritage and identity of Ethiopian Jews in Israel.
