Wales man, 82, shocked by Holocaust survivor’s account

This article highlights the emotional response of an 82-year-old Welshman, Ian Savage, who attended a talk by Holocaust survivor Eva Clarke.

Clarke shared her harrowing experience of being born in Mauthausen concentration camp, Austria. Savage’s initial lack of knowledge about the atrocities of the Holocaust left him deeply moved and regretful.

The event, held in Carmarthen, was part of the Holocaust Educational Trust's outreach programs. Savage’s story reflects the ongoing importance of Holocaust education, particularly in regions like Wales, where the history of the genocide may not be widely known.
