Surrey History Centre to honour Holocaust victims

The Surrey History Centre is hosting a month-long exhibition to commemorate the victims of the Nazi Aktion T4 programme, which claimed the lives of 70,000 people during the Holocaust. The exhibition coincides with Holocaust Memorial Day on 27 January.

Titled 'Finding Ivy: A Life Worthy of Life,' the display sheds light on 13 British-born victims of Aktion T4, a programme that targeted adults with physical and mental disabilities between January 1940 and August 1941.

Staff at the Surrey History Centre contributed to the research, uncovering that one of the victims, Anna Elsie Panitza, once lived in Surrey. The exhibition aims to raise awareness and honour the memory of those who suffered under this programme.
