'SafeU,' Campus Safety Initiative, is Launched

In response to escalating antisemitic incidents on university campuses, the Secure Community Network (SCN), in partnership with Hillel International and the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAS), has launched "SafeU: Campus Safety Initiative."

This pioneering training program equips university students with essential situational awareness and first-aid skills. The initiative addresses the surge in hate and violence targeting Jewish students, notably after the October 7 Hamas attacks. In 2024, SCN documented over 500 threat incidents and identified more than 120 encampments on campuses. "SafeU" offers students practical tools and confidence to navigate hostile environments, ensuring that centers of Jewish life remain secure and welcoming.

The program emphasizes empowerment, with training covering awareness techniques, emergency planning, first-aid procedures, and de-escalation strategies. Students or campus organizations interested in participating can contact SCN’s Director of Campus Safety & Security, Kerri Reifel, or email training@securecommunitynetwork.org for more information.
