80 Years After the Holocaust: Kosher food in the town next to Auschwitz

For the first time since the Holocaust, the Jewish center in Oświęcim, near Auschwitz, will offer kosher meals. This initiative aims to accommodate the influx of visitors during Holocaust Remembrance Day and the March of the Living.

The centre, opened in 2000, has welcomed over 800,000 visitors. Simon Bergson, chair of the center, emphasizes the importance of providing kosher food for observant visitors. Historically, Oświęcim had a vibrant Jewish community before WWII. Today, only one Jewish resident remains.

This development marks a significant step in honoring the town's Jewish heritage.
